The Story of Peggy:
Our Resident Bookworm

Welcome to our oasis and meet our mascot Peggy.

Peggy represents the most profound kind of connection a reader can have.

For 15 years, my friend Peggy and I shared our lives, our secrets, and our souls through the simple medium of email. We never met, never saw a photo, and wouldn’t have recognized each other if we were seated next to each other on a crowded bus. Yet, through a shared love of books, we built a bond more intimate than many people find in a lifetime of face-to-face meetings.

Peggy the Camel is a tribute to that friendship. Peggy reminds us that:

  • Distance is no barrier to depth: True friendship is found in the heart and the mind, not just the eyes.
  • Stories are the ultimate bridge: Sharing your story is sharing a piece of your soul, and discussing it is how we truly come to ‘see’ one another.
  • Stories outlive the storyteller: Though the real Peggy is gone, the curiosity and warmth she shared continue through every story we share together.

So, when you see Peggy remember that you don’t need to ‘see’ someone to truly know them. You just need to listen to their story.

Welcome

I’m Francesca Davino

founder of Life on a Three-Legged Camel Book Club. I am a lifelong book lover and writer, with a background in corporate communications and humaninterest storytelling.

In this technology-driven era, I believe reading and creative writing need renewed
encouragement. I also believe that inside every book lover lives a secret author—someone with a story shaped by experience, insight, and hard-earned perspective.

This book club was created to give those stories a home. As we launch this initial beta version of the platform, we invite you to help us shape this oasis. Because this is a living, evolving space, your feedback is as much a part of the story as the words on the page.

Our goal is to foster thoughtful reading and conversation within a private, members-only community. We offer writers a protected place to share lived experiences as developing, abridged drafts. This is not a step toward traditional publishing; this private club is the publication.

While submissions are guided by clear standards, perfection is not the aim. What matters most is honesty, reflection, and the generous sharing of human experience. Stories here do not need commercial validation to matter. While some authors may later choose to develop their work for a wider audience, all rights remain with the author, and the versions shared here are treated
as private beta releases.

This book club was created to give those stories a home. As we launch this initial beta version of the platform, we invite you to help us shape this oasis. Because this is a living, evolving space, your feedback is as much a part of the story as the words on the page.
